How To Tag Your Items
Each product must be tagged/labeled with the following:
your member code, a product code, and the price.
See the example above for reference. Tags do not need to be a hanging tag like the photo above - price stickers are great too if that makes sense for your product!
Price tags must be typed. Unfortunately not everyone has neat writing, and it can sometimes cause confusion at the cash desk. So to be fair we ask everyone to print them (and it looks much nicer!).
Vendors typically use a handheld label maker or printable stickers from any office supply store.
Member Code
Your member code is how we identify that something is your product. This code is generated by us, and must be on all price stickers (hint: it was included in the ‘Welcome Kit + Next Steps’ email). We use this to put your items through our point of sale system.
Product Code
You must create your own product codes to identify each of your products. These codes must be on all price stickers.` This is how your products are processed, and how you keep track of your inventory.
If you offer variations of colors and sizing, please indicate this on your product code (MH009-123L—’L’ for large).
It is in the vendor’s best interested to code your products according to colours, sizing, scents etc. This is how you will be able to track which of these are most popular/work best with our clientele (for example: perhaps you sell more purple earrings than pink- you’ll want to stock more purple).
Product codes are to be kept at a max of 4 characters.
Prices
Prices must include HST if you are a registered business. Please round up to the nearest dollar and keep prices as whole numbers. (Ex. $50 versus $49.50).
Product Information on Tags/Labels
Information is crucial to the sale of your product. When tags miss key information you can sacrifice a potential sale. Keep in mind sizing, materials and ingredients are all very important to customers because of things like allergies or gifting.
